Busy Pre-Holiday Season
Hello all! I'm embarrassed that I stopped my 100-day Friend Portrait challenge at day 15, but honestly I thought that would happen. I try to have a side project going in tandem with my orders, but I just couldn't swing it. Maybe I'll pick it up again after the holidays?
I am so happy to say that I have been busy with paid work and expanding my client network. Family portrait orders for days!! I've been able to tighten up on my technique and can finish one painting a day. It's exciting to feel the busyness and also connect with strangers, who eventually feel like friends.
I knew it would be fun to paint for the sake of painting, but I didn't realize how fulfilling it would be to connect with people, have them share their story, and I get to interpret that into art.
Thank you to all of my clients! I believe I've gotten new work by word of mouth - many thanks to those of you who have shares my art and my name! To spread the word about small businesses is such a big help.
These are some of the projects I've worked on recently. It's just a handful of the full load, since most of the pieces will be given as gifts over the holidays. I'm not allowed to show them yet, lest they ruin the surprise!
