Is it just me, or do I catch a cold at the slightest chill?
I'm not going to pretend I have a might immune system. If I stay up too late and sleep less than 7 hours, if I have too much sugar, if I'm gorging on citrus, I can generally count on coming down with a cold.
It's so frustrating! I would love to be one of those people who can brave the cold in a scarf and and regular socks. But no, I need that heat-tech stuff that's for sissies.
However, I do some weird home remedies that I use to ward off a sore throat or threatening headache. I take a clove of garlic, halve it, and stick one in each cheek. It's sounds gross, I know, but after sucking on it like a cough drop for a 1/2 hour, the sick feeling disappates! Another remedy - and this is if I'm feeling really low - is brewing a tea made with hot water, ginger, garlic, apple cider vinegar, and honey. I swear, it works!
